We're a Bucharest web development agency, founded in 2003 and still run by the founders who started it. We ship three tracks of work: Magento (rescues, migrations, integrations, performance, maintenance, and dedicated teams), AI Solutions that plug into the systems you already run, and bespoke web applications for problems that don't fit inside Magento or an off-the-shelf SaaS.
The reason to talk to us is delivery discipline. We don't do sales-team pitches — a co-founder is on every discovery call and every kick-off. We don't pad estimates with layered-role markups. We don't take on work we can't deliver, and we're comfortable telling a prospect honestly when someone else would fit better.

Who we are
— Founder-led from Bucharest, Romania
FYB Romania was founded in 2003 by four Bucharest IT specialists — today the company is led by three of them: Mircea Scarlatescu, Iulia Scarlatescu, and Alexandru Baciu, with a bench of senior engineers behind them.
Our clients are mostly in Western Europe — UK, DACH, Nordics, Netherlands — with recurring work in North America and a long tail of historical accounts as far as Japan. We're comfortable with EU time zones and English is the working language on every account. London is a 2-hour overlap, Berlin is 1, the US East Coast is 5 — most collaboration windows work naturally without one side pulling a night shift.
Every engagement is founder-supervised. That doesn't mean Mircea writes every line of code — it means when architecture matters or a client conversation gets awkward, a co-founder is in the room.

How we work
— Direct communication, no delivery layer
No sales team. No junior PM handover. No "let me check with the delivery team." From first email to final invoice you talk to a co-founder or a named engineer — the same person, every time.
One rate, one number. €65 per hour, single rate regardless of role. No layered "senior architect plus delivery lead plus junior developer" markup. Every proposal is itemised — hours per module, transparent, defensible to your board.
Every engagement starts with a fixed-fee scoping step. A triage sprint for rescues, an audit sprint for migrations and integrations, a scoping sprint for bespoke builds. You know upfront what the scoping costs and what you get at the end. The main engagement is scoped from that.
We walk away from bad fits. Not every lead becomes a proposal. If the budget doesn't work, the scope doesn't work, or we're not the right team, we say so on the first call and point you at someone better.

Track 2 — AI Solutions. Five productised offerings: RAG Assistants, AI Support Console, Image & Video Recognition, Agentic Search, and Custom AI Agents. Deployed inside your existing stack — ERP, support, catalogue, knowledge base — not another dashboard.
Track 3 — Bespoke Web Applications. When Magento isn't the right tool and off-the-shelf SaaS doesn't fit. Portals, marketplaces, back-office tools, custom integrations. Built on PHP + Symfony. 35 projects since 2010.
